Ever curious how to make one of my creations? You can now learn how by booking a class below.

Before becoming an artist, I was a classroom teacher and private tutor for over ten years. I bring these skills into my workshops by focusing on each students individual strengths, how they move their hands, and explaining the technique as often as needed in multiple ways. I also have led workshops in design studios and privately for the last three years.

All classes are taught in the GTA area. If you live outside the GTA area, please contact me about traveling to where you live. Prices are listed on the bottom.

Beginner Classes

Chainmaille has a long history with over twenty styles created over time (and that is only the methods known about!). These two courses below will help you learn the basics of chainmaille as well as lets you create your own unusual jewelry.

Traditional European Chainmaille Bracelet

Create your own chanmaille bracelet while learning about the history of this over thousand year old craft tradition.

The workshop will begin with a historical overview of chainmaille and its development within Europe and the world. From there, you will learn about the metals to use, choosing the correct thickness, and how to combine the rings using a historical tradition used since Medieval Europe. By the end of class, you would have made a bracelet (or two) you will be extremely proud of. (Chainmaille is a slow-going process.)

Intermediate Classes

Viking (Helm’s Chain) Bracelet

This workshop will teach you how to make a Helm’s Chain bracelet using a chainmail weave created by the Vikings!

The workshop will begin with a quick review the basics of 4-in-1 chainmaille techniques and how to work with the metal rings professionally. From there, you will learn about ring aspect ratio, which gages to use in Helm’s Chain, and make your own Viking bracelet. By the end of class, you would have made a bracelet (or two) you will be extremely proud of. (Chainmaille is a slow-going process.)

You do not have to attended  beginner chainmaille class to book this course, though it is highly recommended for people who have no chainmaille experience.

Beginner Classes

These two beginning jewelry making workshops will show you how to transfer these previously textile-only skills into making unique and highly detailed jewelry! You can send in images of pieces you would like to mirror prior class, and I will do my best to help you create a similar piece.

Multi Strand Crochet Necklace & Bracelet

This beginner jewelry making workshop will show you how to make beautiful wire crochet necklace using old beads, new beads, pearls, chips, and buttons- anything small with a hole in it!

The workshop will begin with an introduction to what items can be used in wire crochet, followed by the basic straight-line wire crochet technique and methods to add beads as you work. The class also discusses with how to complete your bracelet with an optional re-purposed button clasp and a discussion concerning your ideas for future items. By the end of the class you will have made your own one of a kind necklace and bracelet jewelry set.

Duration: 3 hours

Intermediate Classes

Thick Cuff Crochet Bracelet 

You will learn how to make beautiful wire crochet cuffs using pearls, gemstone chips, or beads to create a thick style bracelet that will fit your style.

The workshop will begin with a quick review what items can be used in wire crochet. Following, you will learn how to work with the wire’s tension, complete a double stitch using wire to create thicker wire crochet pieces, and integrate pearls or beads into your piece. The class finishes with how to complete your bracelet with an optional repurposed button clasp and a discussion concerning your ideas for future items. You will have made at least one bracelet by the end of this class.

You do not need to attend the beginning level wire crochet class to book this workshop, though it is recommended if you have never crocheted before.

Duration: 3 hours

Geometric Shaped Crochet Earrings and Rings

You will create various geometric shape jewelry in this class, including circles, triangles, and rectangles, and use these shapes to make your own style earrings, rings, or pendants

The workshop will begin with a quick review of wire crochet’s various stitches and how to choose the correct gage(s) needed for making shapes. Following this introduction, you will learn how to make each shape, connect the shapes, integrate gemstones into the shapes, and connect them into a ring, a necklace, or earrings At the end of the class you will have completed at least two pieces of jewelry that you can wear or give as gifts.

This class builds upon the both multi-strand wire crochet course and the thick wire cuff course. Please have taken these classes prior or book an extra hour to allow a “crash course” version of these techniques.

Beginner Classes

These two beginning jewelry making workshops will show students work with different wire to create simple, elegant pendants or charms! You can send in images of pieces you would like to mirror prior class, and I will do my best to help you create a similar piece.

Simple Wrap Gemstone Pendants

The  workshop will begin with a quick overview of different wires and their respective strengths, how to work with each’s wire’s individual tension, and then teach the student wrap their own stone. The class finishes with how to finish your pendant with a cord or chain and a discussion concerning your ideas for future items. At the end of the class you will have completed 2-3 pendants that you can wear or give as gifts.

Duration: 2.5 hours

Shaping Earring and Charms

As with the Simple Wrap Gemstone Pendant workshop, this class will begin with a quick overview of different wires and their respective strengths and how to work with each’s wire’s individual tension. You will then learn tricks and tools to bend and shape wire to create using charms that can be put on a necklace or bracelet. The class finishes with how to attach your charms to a chain, and a discussion concerning your ideas for future items. You will have about 10-14 charms (5-7 pairs of earrings) that you can either wear or give as gifts.

Duration: 1.5 hours

Intermediate Classes

Gemstone Cage Pendants

The workshop will begin with a quick review of basic wire working and how to choose the correct gage(s) needed for a pendant. Following this introduction, you will learn the three basic steps needed to make a open face cage pendant, how to choose when to use this method versus a simple cage based on material, and methods to add detail to this piece. At the end of the class you will have completed 2-3 pendants that you can wear or give as gifts.

This class build upon the Simple Wrap Gemstone Pendant workshop. Either knowing the basics of wire wrapping or completing the aforementioned course is a prerequisite before booking.

Duration: 2.5 hours

Basics of Jewelry Making

Many jewely styles only use the basics of jewelry makng. In both these classes, you will learn how to create necklaces and bracelets using measuring techniques, layering techniques, color technique, and finishing techniques. You can also send in images of pieces you would like to mirror prior class, and I will do my best to help you create a similar piece.

You can choose the focus of this class to be one of the two styles below:

–         Chunky and Single Bead Necklaces and Bracelets

–          Multi-Chain Necklaces & Bracelets

By the end of the class, you will have completed at least 2 pieces if not more!

Crystal Combinations for Certain Maladies

This class involves combining crystals to relieve physical, emotional, mental, and energetic maladies. Most conditions are multifaceted and involve more than one energy blockage. In this class, you will learn how to identify what components create the condition, the gemstones that aid in relieving the condition, and how to accurately create a gemstone “prescription.” Class textbooks, a Q & A time, and a healing session will be offered during the class. Feel free to bring questions, your own gemstones, or your own malady to the course!

Duration: 3 hours

Private Classes – $40 per hour not including materials or tools

$50 per hour including materials and tools

Group Classes:   $180 for up to 5 people per hour not including materials and tools ($30 per extra person)

$225 for up to 5 people per hour including materials and tools ($40 per extra person)
