Beginner Classes

These two beginning jewelry making workshops will show students work with different wire to create simple, elegant pendants or charms! You can send in images of pieces you would like to mirror prior class, and I will do my best to help you create a similar piece.

Simple Wrap Gemstone Pendants

The  workshop will begin with a quick overview of different wires and their respective strengths, how to work with each’s wire’s individual tension, and then teach the student wrap their own stone. The class finishes with how to finish your pendant with a cord or chain and a discussion concerning your ideas for future items. At the end of the class you will have completed 2-3 pendants that you can wear or give as gifts.

Duration: 2.5 hours

Shaping Earring and Charms

As with the Simple Wrap Gemstone Pendant workshop, this class will begin with a quick overview of different wires and their respective strengths and how to work with each’s wire’s individual tension. You will then learn tricks and tools to bend and shape wire to create using charms that can be put on a necklace or bracelet. The class finishes with how to attach your charms to a chain, and a discussion concerning your ideas for future items. You will have about 10-14 charms (5-7 pairs of earrings) that you can either wear or give as gifts.

Duration: 1.5 hours

Intermediate Classes

Gemstone Cage Pendants

The workshop will begin with a quick review of basic wire working and how to choose the correct gage(s) needed for a pendant. Following this introduction, you will learn the three basic steps needed to make a open face cage pendant, how to choose when to use this method versus a simple cage based on material, and methods to add detail to this piece. At the end of the class you will have completed 2-3 pendants that you can wear or give as gifts.

This class build upon the Simple Wrap Gemstone Pendant workshop. Either knowing the basics of wire wrapping or completing the aforementioned course is a prerequisite before booking.
