As we welcome May, and move forward with the year; we enter May’s birth month and birth stone, the emerald. It is the stone that nurtures the Heart Chakra. This is the energy that provides healing, hope and inspiration. As spring flowers bloom, we celebrate the renewal and growth of nature, and within ourselves.

Emerald is the “The Stone of Successful Love”. Known for opening the heart, and soothing the mind, it resonates with all of us. We sometimes lose ourselves in the chaos, and this stone grounds us with patience, compassion and unconditional love.

History of Emerald

This stone has been around and recorded to be sold in the Babylonian era as far back as 4000 B.C. It was worshipped by the Incas, for its spiritual power and beauty. In western literature, Aristotle spoke of the impact of the stone in his texts. While ancient Egyptians believed the emerald stood for fertility and rebirth. Throughout history, it has been valued and revered for its beauty and power.  It appears in contentless religious texts for its power spanning over different faiths. This is truly a historic stone.
